The Effects of Occupational Types on Attitudes Toward People with Disabilities
Choi Gug-Hwan

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to exam the effects of 3 occupational categories and its related attitudinal variables on attitudes toward people with disabilities. A total of 378 people in 3 occupational categories participated in this study. Scale of Attitudes for the Disabled Persons(SADP-R) was utilized in this study. The study results indicated that the social worker group in centers or facilities produced more positive attitude scores than the counterpart groups, the military line officer group and the general occupational group. No difference was found between the military line officer group and the general public group. Gender difference was found within the 2 occupational groups, and a contact and an education variable tended to produce positive impacts on attitudes toward people with disabilities. The conclusion and implication of this study were discussed.
